Overview
During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, PBL responded to the emergency by leveraging its skills and experience in pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing, to design and manufacture an economical and effective mechanical ventilator: the ABU v01. The entire process took less than 2 months.
ABU v01 is a CE-marked medical device that transforms the traditional AMBU device into a real Assist-Control Ventilator (ACV) and Pressure-Support Ventilator (PSV), for an Intensive Care unit (ICU). This is achieved through the implementation of advanced flow, pressure sensors, and a high-precision feedback system. The ABU v01 can be used for both invasive and non-invasive (NIV) ventilation. The device can automate the ventilation process by operating the traditional AMBU system.
